How to Create or Manage your Email Signature
Bringing uniformity to email signature is one of the critical steps towards effective usage of the new brand guidelines of Somaiya Vidyavihar University. As part of that we have designed a uniform email signature for the entire employees of Somaiya Vidyavihar University. As we communicate with all the stakeholders via email, we intend to bring greater solidarity and brand recognition via this email signature.
There are two ways to create email signatures for your Somaiya Email Account.
Automated Email Signature for Faculty & Staff
We have rolled out an auto standard email signature for all faculty and staff.
Email signatures can be visible in the email settings. Changing of information in email settings is not recommended as the system will update to default information twice a week.
- In case you need to carry out any changes in your Name, Salutation, designation or landline number - you can directly reach out to the HR team for help.
- Whereas, in case of any change in your mobile number - you can update it yourself via accessing the MyAccount Portal > under Profile Info.
- For any other changes, you can reach out to the central IT Department of Somaiya Vidyavihar.
Note: Salutation field is visible only in case of Doctors.
After updating in HR Software or Myaccount portal, within 2-3 days it automatically reflects in your email signature. But still they are able to modify the signature before sending, to know more you can refer below instructions of Manual Email Signature.

Add or change a signature
You can put up to 10,000 characters in your signature.
Open Somaiya Email.
In the top right, click Settings See all settings.
In the "Signature" section, add your signature text in the box. If you want, you can format your message by adding an image or changing the text style.
At the bottom of the page, click Save Changes.
Manage multiple signatures
You can use different signatures for your emails. For example, you can set a signature default for new emails you compose or reply to. You can also choose a different signature with each email you send.
Tip: If you want to change your signature while you write an email, at the bottom of the window, click Insert signature.
Note : Auto updated email signature will work only for Gmail web UI.
How to Add or change a signature on Phone
Set up a signature that shows up only for emails you send from the Gmail app.
Open the Gmail app .
In the top left, tap Menu .
Scroll to the bottom, then tap Settings.
Choose the Google Account where you want to add a signature.
Tap Mobile Signature.
Enter the text for your signature.
Tap OK.
