Oracle Front-end Installation Steps for Admission,Library software

Go To Run -> \\172.31.0.105\Oracle Forms 6i

Step 1: Forms Installation

Find the location where you want to install Frontend of oracle

(i.e. C: Drive or D: Drive ) Better to select C: Drive if more space is available.

Select Setup.exe file from \\172.31.0.105\Oracle Forms6i\FORMS-6I-CD (Or your set up folder file)
Enter the Company Name: (your company name ex. SOMAIYA)

Oracle Home :

Name: Forms6i

Location: C:\Forms6i

Language: English

Press OK

What product do you wish to install

Oracle Forms Developer
Oracle Report Developer

Select (Oracle Forms Developer)

Press OK Button

What type of installation would you like to perform

Custom (for Runtime or selective product installation)

Select 2nd option (Custom )

Press OK Button

Go to +Oracle Forms 6.0.8.11.3 and click

Select Forms Runtime 6.0.8.11.3

By ctrl key pressing and holding the key Go to

Go to +Oracle Graphics 6.0.8.10.1

Select Graphics runtime 6.0.8.10.1

By ctrl key pressing and holding the key Go to

Go to +Oracle Net8 products 8.0.6.0.0.11.1181195 and select

Hint: See in selected products ( 3 products only) in below screenshot

Press “INSTALL” Key for installation of products

General Information Dialog Box -- . Press OK
System Support File Dialog box - Press OK
General Information – Installation Successful Press OK
Exit -> Confirmation -> OK

Steps:2 Reports Installation

Follow the Steps shown in above from 3 to 5
Select 2nd option of Oracle Reports Developer

What type of installation would you like to perform

Typical ( for full installation)
Custom (for Runtime or selective product installation)

Select 2nd option (Custom )

Press OK Button

Go to +Oracle Reports 6.0.8.11.3 press key

Select Reports Runtime 6.0.8.11.3

Press INSTALL key

General Information Dialog box

Installation Successful – Press OK key

Exit – Press Yes

Step 3: Patch 14 Setup

1. Run Setup.exe from //172.31.0.105/Oracle Forms6i/Patch-14-CD

2. Select Custom Type

3. Install Only Forms runtime

Reports runtime

Graphics runtime

Step 4: Setting database connectivity

IF the Operating system is WIN XP / Windows 2000 Professional then

Search symcjit.dll from all drive of system
Rename as symcjitold.dll

Else

No need to rename the file

End if;

Run Start – Programs - Oracle for windows95 - Oracle Net8 Easy Config

Put the service name as ‘SOMAIYA’ and next
Select the TCP/IP (Internet Protocol) from the list and Next.
Put the hostname as ‘172.31.0.3’ and next.

(Hostname: IP address or Name of the Server)

Put the Database SID as ‘BSCIL’ and next.

(SID : System Identifier created during database installation)

Next
Finish

Instate of step 4 you can paste tnsnames.ora file directly into your machines at C:\orant\NET80\ADMIN from \\172.31.0.105\Oracle Forms6i\EMIS

Step 5 Copy file

Copy 3 files with names d2kwut60.dll,NNB60.DLL,NN60.DLL from path \\172.31.0.105\Oracle Forms6i\Oracle_Replace_File and replace file to C:\orant\bin
Copy 1 file from \\172.31.0.105\Oracle Forms6i with name fmrusw.res to C:\Orant\form60

Step 6 : Icon on Desktop

Go to \\172.31.0.105\Oracle Forms6i\EMIS
select file EMIS.fmx and sent to Desktop

Step 8: First time EMIS Starting

Press icon of EMIS First time it ask the support file
Open with -> Path where the Orant installed i.e. C:\ Orant\Bin

Select the ifrun60.exe -> open -> Click on checkbox -> Always use this program to open this type of file

Press OK.

After installation add registry :

1)* Run-regedit-hkey_localmachine-software-oracle-right click on right side-new-string value- rename as ADMISSION_FILE_PATH & \\172.31.0.1\EMIS\PLL

2)* Create another string value rename as EMIS_FILE_PATH \\172.31.0.1\EMIS

3) Create another string value rename as Bookworm \\172.31.0.1\EMIS \PLL

Run the registry from path : \\172.31.0.105\Oracle Forms6i\EMIS

EMIS_REGISTRY_FOR_WINDOWS7.reg for windows 7

EMIS_REGISTRY_WinXP.reg for Windows XP
